First Walkers NDIS Support

Can I purchase orthopaedic shoes for my child using NDIS funds?

Yes, you can use your NDIS funds to purchase orthopaedic shoes from First Walkers. It doesn’t matter whether your plan is self-managed or managed by an agency or plan manager — we regularly assist NDIS participants with footwear purchases.

What is the process for purchasing shoes using NDIS funds?

If you have a plan manager or agency:
Browse our range of orthopaedic kids’ shoes and choose the style that suits your child’s needs. You can then generate an invoice using the NDIS payment button at checkout or contact us to request a formal invoice. Provide this invoice to your plan manager for approval and payment.

If you are self-managed:
You can make the purchase directly. We’ll issue an itemised invoice for your records, which you can submit to NDIS for reimbursement. Please ensure your purchase is eligible for reimbursement under your plan before completing checkout.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Not at this time. However, many families still use NDIS funds to purchase our products. As long as the expense is approved by your plan manager and aligns with your child’s support goals, reimbursement is typically possible. We’re happy to provide invoices and documentation as needed.
